Our Programs
Competitive
Dive Toronto's competitive programs are ideal for people who have a true love of diving, who thrive on challenging themselves, and who enjoy the camaraderie of being a part of a team. Our different streams of competitive diving allow for varying levels of commitment and intensity.
Divers on our Competitive Team have the opportunity to train at an advanced level and participate in diving competitions. They will enjoy the benefits of self -esteem that is developed through goal-setting, challenging themselves in a demanding sport and achieving success.
Learn to Dive
The focus of our recreational program is on fun, fitness, and the joy of learning and mastering new skills. Participants work at their own pace, in a safe and non-competitive environment. All classes take place at the University of Toronto Pool (located at Harbord and Spadina).
All our instructors are certified by Diving Plongeon Canada, and many are current or former nationally or internationally ranked competitive divers. They will guide classes in diving skills, fitness, and safety, based on the National Learn-to-Dive Program.
All classes begin with a warm-up on deck that incorporates diving fitness, flexibility, strength and technique. Emphasis will be on basic skills from the 1 metre board, with the opportunity to do jumps, entries, and basic dives from the 3 metre board and 5 metre platform. Divers will be grouped as well as possible according to age and level.
